Colloidal
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002237
Describing a system in which one substance is dispersed uniformly throughout another substance as particles with dimensions typically between 1 nanometer and 1 micrometer. These particles are larger than simple molecules but too small to be seen with the naked eye or to settle out under gravity. Colloidal systems exhibit properties such as the Tyndall effect.
