Colloid stabiliser

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002236

A substance that prevents the aggregation or settling of dispersed particles in a colloidal system, thereby maintaining its stability. These agents typically function by creating repulsive forces between particles, such as electrostatic repulsion or steric hindrance. Common examples include polymers, surfactants, and finely divided solids.
