Deflocculation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002919

The process of dispersing aggregated particles in a suspension or colloid into individual, discrete particles. This is achieved by introducing agents that reduce interparticle attractive forces, such as electrostatic repulsion or steric hindrance. Deflocculation results in a more stable and homogeneous dispersion, preventing sedimentation or creaming.
