Colloidally stable

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002246

Describing a colloidal system that resists aggregation or sedimentation of its dispersed particles over time. This stability is maintained by repulsive forces between particles, such as electrostatic repulsion or steric hindrance, which overcome attractive forces like van der Waals interactions. The stability can be quantified by measuring the rate of particle aggregation.
