Slip
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010936
A fluid suspension of fine solid particles in a liquid, prepared for use in ceramic processing or as a coating material. The particles are typically inorganic, such as metal oxides, and remain dispersed due to electrostatic repulsion or steric hindrance. The viscosity and particle size distribution of a slip are carefully controlled for specific applications.
