Green body

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005023

An unfired, shaped article composed of ceramic or metallic powder particles, often held together by a binder. This intermediate product is formed through processes like pressing, extrusion, or slip casting, and it possesses sufficient strength for handling before subsequent thermal treatment. The green body undergoes densification and strengthening during sintering or pyrolysis.
