Slip casting
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010937
A forming process used to create ceramic or polymer-based objects by pouring a liquid suspension, known as a slip, into a porous mold. The mold absorbs the liquid, leaving a layer of solid particles deposited on its inner surface. After drying, the formed object, called a green body, can be removed and further processed, such as by sintering.
