Slimicide

A chemical agent used to control or prevent the growth of slime-forming microorganisms, such as bacteria, fungi, and algae, in industrial water systems. These compounds are commonly employed in pulp and paper mills, cooling towers, and other processes where microbial biofilms can cause operational problems. Examples include quaternary ammonium compounds and isothiazolinones.
