Chemostat
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001991
A type of bioreactor designed for continuous culture of microorganisms, where fresh growth medium is continuously added while an equal volume of culture containing cells and metabolic byproducts is removed. This system maintains a constant volume and allows for precise control over growth rate and cell density. It is widely used in industrial biotechnology and microbial research.
