Light chain
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006581
A smaller polypeptide subunit of an antibody molecule, typically composed of a variable and a constant domain. It pairs with a heavy chain to form the antigen-binding fragment (Fab) of an immunoglobulin. There are two main types of light chains in mammals, kappa (κ) and lambda (λ), which differ in their constant regions.
