Constant gene
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002462
A gene that encodes the constant region of an immunoglobulin or T-cell receptor chain. These genes are relatively invariant within a species and determine the effector functions of antibodies or the structural integrity of T-cell receptors. In humans, there are multiple constant genes for each immunoglobulin heavy and light chain.
