Fv fragment

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004734

The smallest antigen-binding unit of an antibody, consisting of the variable regions of both the heavy and light chains, held together by non-covalent interactions or a disulfide bond. This fragment retains the full antigen-binding specificity and affinity of the parent antibody. Single-chain Fv (scFv) fragments, where the variable regions are linked by a flexible peptide, are widely used in biotechnology and therapeutics.
