The power to which the intensity ratio of each mass peak is raised when two secondary ion spectra, acquired with different primary ion conditions, are combined to give the G-SIMS spectrum. The conditions are either well-separated beam energies for one primary ion species or two different primary ion species. Values between 0 and 40 are scanned during analysis, and 13 has been found to work well for producing spectra.
