G-SIMS with fragmentation pathway mapping

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005051

An extension of G-SIMS data processing in which the g index, the power applied to the intensity ratio of two spectra, is stepped through a range of values while the response of each ion is followed. How the ion intensities change with g links product ions to the precursor ion they came from and shows how fragments relate to one another. The result maps the fragmentation pathways of molecules at a surface.
