Chemical map
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001953
A two- or three-dimensional representation of the spatial distribution of chemical species or properties within a sample. This is generated by analyzing a series of discrete points or areas across the sample's surface or volume. Techniques such as X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) mapping or secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) are used to create these maps, revealing heterogeneity in composition.
