Imaging mass spectrometry

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005598

A mass spectrometry technique that generates two-dimensional or three-dimensional maps of the spatial distribution of molecules within a sample. It involves acquiring mass spectra from discrete points across a surface or volume, allowing for the visualization of the location and relative abundance of specific compounds. This method is widely used in biological and materials science to study molecular heterogeneity.
