Condition index
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002387
A quantitative measure used to assess the physiological state or health of an organism, particularly in aquatic toxicology. It is derived from morphological or physiological parameters, such as the ratio of tissue weight to shell weight in bivalves. This index provides an indication of an organism's energy reserves and overall well-being in response to environmental stressors.
