Maturity index
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007040
A quantitative measure used in ecotoxicology to assess the structural and functional development of a biological community, often based on the composition of nematode communities. It reflects the shift from opportunistic, r-strategy species to more stable, k-strategy species. A higher index value indicates a more mature and less disturbed ecosystem.
