Tolerance index
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012098
A quantitative measure indicating the ability of an organism or population to withstand exposure to a particular stressor, such as a pollutant or environmental condition. It is often calculated as a ratio of performance under stress to performance under optimal conditions. A higher tolerance index suggests greater resilience to adverse factors.
