Tolerance interval

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012099

The interval of permissible values of a quantity in conformity assessment, bounded by the lower and upper tolerance limits, within which an item must fall to meet a specified requirement. Unless the requirement states otherwise, the limits themselves belong to the interval. It differs from the statistical tolerance interval, which covers a stated proportion of a population at a given confidence level, and from the acceptance interval applied to measured values.
