Acceptance interval

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000097

An interval of permissible measured values: a measurement that falls inside it leads to acceptance of the item as conforming. It is bounded by one or two acceptance limits, which belong to the interval unless the specification states otherwise, and it can be narrower than the tolerance interval when guard bands allow for measurement uncertainty. Eurachem's compliance guide calls the same thing an acceptance zone.
