Salt tolerance index

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010488

A quantitative measure of an organism's ability to withstand and grow in environments with elevated salt concentrations. It is often calculated as the ratio of a physiological parameter (e.g., growth rate, biomass) under saline conditions compared to control conditions. This index is particularly relevant in agriculture for selecting salt-tolerant crop varieties in arid and semi-arid regions.
