Postsynaptic
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009312
Relating to the membrane of a neuron or other cell that receives a signal from a presynaptic neuron across a synapse. This membrane contains receptors that bind to neurotransmitters, initiating a response in the receiving cell. The postsynaptic potential is the change in electrical potential across this membrane.
