Morphine

An opioid analgesic, naturally occurring in the opium poppy, that acts as a potent agonist at mu-opioid receptors in the central nervous system. It is widely used in medicine for the relief of severe pain due to its strong pain-relieving properties. However, its use carries a high risk of physical dependence and addiction.
