Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000720
A drug or other substance that reduces anxiety, tension, and agitation. These agents exert their effects primarily on the central nervous system, often by enhancing the activity of the inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).
