Isotopically labelled

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006253

Describing a compound in which one or more atoms have been replaced by a specific isotope of the same element, allowing the compound to be tracked or its properties to be studied. The isotopic composition differs from the natural abundance. This technique is widely used in mechanistic studies and medical imaging.
