Multiply labelled

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007677

Describing a compound in which two or more atoms of one element have each been replaced by a chosen isotope, so that several positions in the molecule carry the label. Methane with two, three or four of its hydrogens replaced by deuterium, giving CH2D2, CHD3 or CD4, is multiply labelled, whereas CH3D carries the label at only one position.
