Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010684

Describing a chemical compound in which one or more specific atoms of a particular element are replaced by their isotopes, while other atoms of the same element remain isotopically unmodified. This technique is used to trace reaction mechanisms or to study molecular dynamics. The position of the isotopic label is precisely defined.
