Specifically labelled tracer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013583
A tracer molecule in which a specific atom or group of atoms has been replaced by an isotope, either radioactive or stable, at a precisely defined position within the molecule. This allows for the tracking of the molecule's fate or the reaction pathway of a specific part of the molecule. For example, a carbon-14 atom at a particular position in a glucose molecule.
