Uniformly labelled tracer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012432
A chemical compound in which a specific isotope, such as a radioisotope, is distributed evenly throughout all equivalent positions within the molecule. This even distribution means that every atom of a particular element in the compound has an equal probability of being the labelled isotope. Such tracers are used to study metabolic pathways or reaction mechanisms without altering the chemical properties of the substance.
