Selectively-labelled isotopic tracer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010685

A molecule in which one or more specific atoms have been replaced by their stable or radioactive isotopes at defined positions within the molecular structure. This labeling allows the molecule to be tracked through chemical or biological processes without altering its chemical properties. Such tracers are invaluable for studying reaction mechanisms and metabolic pathways.
