Stereospecifically labelled tracer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011389
A tracer molecule in which an isotopic label, such as deuterium or carbon-13, is incorporated at a specific, stereochemically defined position. The use of such a tracer allows the stereochemical course of a reaction or metabolic pathway to be determined by tracking the position of the label in the products. For example, it can distinguish between inversion and retention of configuration at a chiral center.
