Unimer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012433
A single, non-aggregated macromolecule in a solution that is capable of self-assembly into a micelle or other aggregate structure. Unimers exist in equilibrium with the aggregated species, such as micelles, in solutions of amphiphilic block copolymers or surfactants. The concentration at which aggregation begins and both unimers and micelles coexist is called the critical micelle concentration.
