Micelle
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007295
An aggregate of surfactant molecules dispersed in a liquid colloid, forming a spherical or cylindrical structure. The hydrophobic tails of the surfactant molecules cluster together in the interior, while the hydrophilic heads face outwards towards the solvent. Micelles form above a specific concentration known as the critical micelle concentration (CMC).
