Micellar rod
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007293
An elongated, cylindrical aggregate of amphiphilic molecules, such as surfactants or block copolymers, formed in a solvent. These structures arise from the self-assembly of molecules above a certain concentration, known as the critical micelle concentration. Micellar rods possess a hydrophobic core and a hydrophilic shell, and their dimensions can vary significantly depending on the molecular architecture and solution conditions.
