Ad-micelle
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000262
A surfactant bilayer adsorbed on a charged solid surface, usually an inorganic particle. The first layer has its charged head groups against the surface and its tails pointing outward, and a second layer sits on top with tails inward and heads facing the solution. Admicelles form at surfactant concentrations below the critical micelle concentration.
