Inverted micelle

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006064

A type of micelle formed in nonpolar solvents, where the polar head groups of surfactant molecules are oriented towards the interior, forming a polar core. The nonpolar hydrocarbon tails extend outwards into the continuous nonpolar phase. These structures can encapsulate water or other polar substances in their core.
