Molecular shape of lipids
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007517
The overall geometric form adopted by lipid molecules, which is influenced by the relative sizes of their polar head groups and nonpolar hydrocarbon tails. This shape dictates how lipids pack together to form supramolecular structures like micelles, bilayers, or inverted hexagonal phases. Common shapes include conical, cylindrical, and inverted conical.
