Signalling lipids

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013555

Lipid molecules that act as messengers within or between cells, initiating or modulating cellular responses. These compounds are typically produced in response to specific stimuli and bind to target proteins to elicit their effects. Examples include prostaglandins, leukotrienes, and sphingolipids, which regulate inflammation, cell growth, and apoptosis.
