Lipophobic
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006666
Relating to the property of a substance or molecular group that shows an aversion to a lipid or nonpolar environment, meaning it does not readily dissolve in or associate with fats, oils, or other nonpolar solvents. This characteristic is typical of polar or charged molecules and functional groups that prefer to interact with polar solvents like water. The term is synonymous with oleophobic.
