Lipophilic
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006663
Describing a chemical substance that has an affinity for, and tends to dissolve in, lipids or nonpolar solvents. This property arises from the presence of a high proportion of nonpolar groups within the molecule, which allows it to interact favorably with other nonpolar substances. Lipophilic compounds often exhibit low solubility in water.
