Lipid film
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006654
A layer of lipid molecules, one or more molecules thick, formed at an interface, such as the boundary between a liquid and a gas or between two immiscible liquids. These films are composed of amphiphilic molecules that orient themselves based on their polar heads and nonpolar tails. A lipid monolayer at an air-water interface is a common experimental system studied using a Langmuir trough.
