Hydrophilic-interaction liquid chromatography
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005484
A chromatographic technique for separating polar and hydrophilic compounds using a polar stationary phase and a largely nonpolar, water-miscible mobile phase. Analytes partition between the mobile phase and a water-enriched layer on the surface of the stationary phase, with more polar analytes being retained longer. Elution is achieved by increasing the polarity of the mobile phase, for instance, by increasing the water content in an acetonitrile and water mixture.
