Reversed-phase chromatography

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010321

A chromatographic technique where the stationary phase is nonpolar and the mobile phase is polar, typically an aqueous solvent mixture. Separation occurs based on hydrophobic interactions between the analytes and the stationary phase, with more nonpolar compounds being retained longer. This is the most widely used mode of high-performance liquid chromatography.
