Cloning
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012982
The process of creating genetically identical copies of a biological entity, such as a gene, cell, or organism. In molecular biology, this often involves inserting a gene of interest into a vector and replicating it within a host cell. This technique is widely used for producing large quantities of specific DNA sequences or proteins for research and biotechnological applications.
