Clone

A population of cells or organisms that are genetically identical, having originated from a single ancestor cell or organism through asexual reproduction. In molecular biology, a clone can also be a collection of identical DNA molecules, such as those produced by recombinant DNA technology. Cloning is a fundamental technique in genetic engineering and biotechnology.
