Clonic

Relating to or characterized by clonus, which involves rapidly alternating, rhythmic contraction and relaxation of a muscle. This type of movement is a key feature of certain types of seizures, where it manifests as repeated, forceful jerking of the limbs or body. The term is often used in the phrase 'tonic-clonic seizure' to describe a convulsion with both sustained muscle stiffening (tonic phase) and subsequent jerking (clonic phase).
