Genetic engineering
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004833
The direct manipulation of an organism's genes using biotechnology to introduce, eliminate, or modify specific traits. This involves techniques such as recombinant DNA technology to create genetically modified organisms. In polymer science, it can be used to produce biopolymers with tailored properties or to engineer microorganisms for polymer synthesis.
