Biolistics

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001276

A method for introducing foreign genetic material into cells by accelerating microscopic particles coated with DNA or RNA into target tissues. This technique, also known as gene gun delivery, physically penetrates cell walls and membranes, allowing the genetic material to enter the cell nucleus. Biolistics is widely used in plant transformation and genetic engineering.
