Genetic epidemiology

A field of epidemiology that investigates the role of genetic factors in the etiology of diseases within populations. It combines principles of genetics and epidemiology to identify genetic predispositions to disease and understand gene-environment interactions. This discipline often uses family studies and population-based genetic association studies.
